The 2023 Drum and Percussion Craft Show was held this year on Saturday 25th March. A day full of moments to enjoy. The weather was sunny throughout the day, which made it a great day for all the attendees to enjoy.
For yet another year, it was the turn of the Avenida de la Constitución, The event was scheduled for a single day, just as we did in 2022. This change of decision has proved to be a wise one, as a day well spent can be very profitable.
In the morning, children's games were programmed, as well as the usual craft stalls where you could see some of the jewels of the drum, as well as buy related articles of the highest quality, such as straps, sticks and even drums. It is worth mentioning that the photography exhibition is becoming more and more important for the "cuadrillas", as year after year there are more and more registered cards and photographs that we are able to exhibit. Thus, this year we set up a tent in which we exhibited all the files/registers of all the groups registered up to that time.
After a break for lunch, the second part of the event began. To begin with, an interesting discussion between artisans in which the new handmade drums finished this year were presented and in which we could see that this art is in good hands for the future. Afterwards, students from the children's and youth drumming classes of our town, representatives from Hellín and Agramón, as guest towns, and the delegation from Tobarreña, who represented us this year in our own Jornadas, performed. All the performances were spectacular.
To end the day, gifts were presented to all the volunteers and institutions participating in the Jornadas Nacionales del Tambor y el Bombo in recognition of the fantastic work carried out by all of them both in the preparations and throughout the development of the event.
In short, an excellent day in which to exalt our traditions and a reunion in style with all those things that we always try to offer to those who visit us at this time of year. The perfect aperitif for what awaits us every year at Easter.
